Support that stays with you.
Maternal Haven was created to offer families the kind of care that is often missing during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum: consistent, emotionally attuned support that truly continues beyond the moment of delivery.
Through our signature Haven Circle™ continuity model, we provide personalized birth support, postpartum care, overnight newborn care, and education designed to help families feel grounded, informed, and deeply supported throughout the transition into parenthood.
We believe care should feel warm, professional, evidence-informed, and human. Whether you are preparing for birth, recovering postpartum, navigating newborn life, or simply needing someone to help carry the weight of this season, Maternal Haven exists to walk alongside you through it.

Meet the Founder
Maternal Haven was founded by Andrea Pichataro, childbirth educator, birth and postpartum doula dedicated to creating more connected, restorative, and emotionally supported experiences for families entering parenthood.
Before entering the birth world, Andrea spent several years working closely with families and caring for infants and young children as a nanny. That experience gave her firsthand insight into how deeply transformative and vulnerable the postpartum period can be, as well as how much families benefit from consistent, compassionate support.
As she transitioned into perinatal care, Andrea quickly recognized that many parents were navigating pregnancy, birth, and postpartum feeling overwhelmed, isolated, or unsupported. Maternal Haven was created in response to that need: a care model designed to bridge the gaps families often experience and provide continuity throughout every stage of the journey.
Today, Andrea provides birth support, postpartum care, overnight newborn care, and childbirth education for families throughout San Diego. She brings nearly 800 hours of hospital-integrated and community-based perinatal support experience, combining emotional presence, evidence-informed care, newborn expertise, and advocacy into every family’s experience.
Her work is rooted in the belief that families deserve care that is not only clinically informed, but deeply human care that honors emotional wellness, cultural identity, family values, and the realities of modern parenthood.
Outside of supporting families directly, Andrea is passionate about improving postpartum support systems, mentoring new doulas, and building sustainable models of continuity care through Maternal Haven.
